Danapur Express 11 Hours Late: Railway travellers are facing a tough time returning home for the festive season as they arrive into Bihar hours late on many long distance trains. Trains arriving into Patna and Danapur stations after coming from Bengaluru, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and elsewhere have been delayed by up to 11 hours, causing frustration.
Several trains have been delayed by between five and 11 hours, according to updates on the railways app on November 6.
Trains such as the SMVT Bengaluru to Danapur SF Express (22366) were particularly affected.
Others which were heavily delayed are:

Despite the delays, extra services have been set up to cope. On November 5, The Indian Express reported that Indian Railways is running 106 special train services including special Vande Bharat services to Bihar to cope with the increase in passengers during Diwali and Chhath.
East Central Railway said that as of November 3, they had announced 103 special train services in their zone. This includes 5 special train services running through their zone and 51 passing their stations.
Some of the most important special services running between Bihar and Delhi are:
This also includes special services to Chandigarh, Firozpur, Gwalior, Bhopal, Rajasthan and more.
A major issue travellers are having is due to there being no pantry cars on many of the festival special services.
As some journeys are taking between five and 11 hours longer than usual, passengers are struggling to get food and drinks. There is little time at intermediate stations to buy food.
When travelling to Bihar, do not assume your train will be on time as it can be delayed multiple times. The easiest way to find out is:
Use the RailOne App: Look up your train via the official Indian Railways RailOne app.
Make sure you put in the correct train number and see what time it is now expected to arrive.
