PhD student commits suicide in IIT Delhi campus

Manjula Devak, a 27-year-old student of PhD final year was found dead in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi campus, said police on Tuesday.

Devak, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room around 7.40 pm in Nalanda apartments in the IIT Delhi campus.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal, Manjula, was married to Ritesh Virha. She was a student of water resources. Her family including husband and parents resides in Bhopal. They have been informed about her death, DCP Biswal added.

A probe has been initiated in the matter. The cause of suicide was yet to be known. No suicide note was found, said police.
