Ramdev’s Patanjali to launch first evidence based Ayurvedic medicine ‘Coronil’ for COVID-19

The pandemic coronavirus has gripped the country, while everyone is waiting for a vaccine for the disease, Baba Ramdev’s consumer goods company Patanjali Ayurved is all set to launch their Ayurvedic medicine Coronil for COVID 19 today at a press conference.

According to reports, Coronil which has been developed after clinical trials will be launched at a press conference in Yogpeeth, Haridwar. The company claims that it is the first evidence-based Ayurvedic medicine.

Co-founder Acharya Balkrishna has also tweeted about the launch and said that the drug will be accompanied by a scientific document. According to the company they have conducted ‘randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials’ and during the conference, they will reveal the outcome of the test.

Earlier this month, Patanjali Ayurved had claimed that it has found a cure for COVID-19. The company which was started by yoga guru Ramdev said that the medicine developed by them had shown a success rate of 80 per cent.

For the uninitiated, at present, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, India has recorded a total of 4,40,215 lakhs cases. Globally, India falls in the list of top 5 countries with the highest number of cases and is the fourth-worst affected country in the world after Russia with 5,91,465 total cases.
