Dollar Tree Buys 170 99 Cents Only Stores
Texas SNAP May 2024: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps people buy the food they need every day.
In addition to food, SNAP allows people to buy garden seeds. However, it cannot be used to buy tobacco, alcoholic drinks, or anything else you cannot eat or drink.
Those in low-income households are eligible for the program. With no children, most adults between the ages of 18 and 52 can only receive SNAP benefits for three months per year. However, if they work at least 20 hours a week or are in a job/training program, the benefit period can be extended.
Families with older adults or people with disabilities may participate in the Texas Simplified Application Project (TSAP), which simplifies the application process for SNAP because it provides three years’ worth of benefits at a time instead of just six months.
You can check your award letter (TF0001) to see when your benefits are deposited into your account once a month.
You will receive your TANF benefits once a month, depending on your TANF Eligibility Determination Group number, which is also found on the TF0001 form.
Eligible Determination Group (EDG) numbers are found on the back of SNAP cards as the last two digits.
Your local Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will send you a Lone Star Card if you qualify for TANF or SNAP benefits.
SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) can all be accessed safely there.
Additionally, you can check your Lone Star Card balance, view recent card activity, manage your PIN, freeze and unfreeze your card, and request a new card through Your Texas Benefits.
