Underage driving cases increase in Kerala: Authorities To Take Strict Action Against Parents

In an effort to combat the problem of underage driving, authorities in Thiruvananthapuram have announced that parents will be prosecuted if their children under the age of 18 are discovered driving a vehicle. The primary objective is to enforce the law strictly and eradicate teenage drivers from the roads.

A recent week-long police inspection in the Malabar region revealed an increase in the frequency of these violations.

During the examination, 20 police districts registered a total of 401 cases. Among these, Malappuram recorded the maximum number of cases, 145 in total. Following Palakkad with 74 cases was Thrissur with 55 cases.
