VA Education Benefits for Dependent: It is often devastating to lose the help of a father or spouse, especially when it comes to education and development.
As a result, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers financial assistance to dependents and spouses of veterans.
Veterans and service members who have been killed, captured, or lost in action are eligible for the Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program.
Additionally, it provides assistance to spouses and dependents of disabled veterans.
The DEA, also known as Chapter 35, may be applied for online or by mail. To fill out the application, you will need your social security number and that of your sponsor.
In addition, you will be required to provide basic information about the school or training facility you will attend, as well as your bank account information for direct deposit and your academic record.
To apply by mail and not yet enrolled in a program, all you need to do is fill out VA Form 22-5490 and send it to your state’s regional processing office.
You must also notify your school or training program certification officer that you are applying for VA educational benefits. The officer must submit your registration information online if you are already enrolled.
Veteran or service member applicants must be 18 years of age or older, or have completed high school or secondary education.
