This 12-year old boy has launched agitation against heavy school bags

Rugved Raikwar, a 12 year old Nagpur boy who is fed up of heavy school bags has decided to deal with the issue on his own. Rugved began his agitation at city’s Sanvidhan Chowk on October 2 as government taking no cognizance of his plea to ensure stringent execution of high court directives of keeping the weight of schoolbags less than 10% of the body weight of the student.

Rugved who is a student of Vidyaniketan School in Chandrapur decided to start his agitation on Gandhi Jayanti.

He shares the plight of school students who are required to carry umpteen number of books to school every day.

He wants to drag the attention of national media to the issue of heavy school bags students have to carry and the health hazards it entails for them like backaches, spondylosis, neck pain and other orthopaedic problems.

Rugved has already written to Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking intervention in the issue.
