$5000 DOGE Reward: People in the US are dealing with rising prices, and they hope for a special payment called a DOGE dividend. James Fishback, the head of Azoria, proposed this idea, wanting to give people money similar to stimulus checks. He’s been talking with lawmakers to get a proposal before Congress.

The plan faces challenges due to the current economic situation and the need to cut government spending. Fishback says his talks with lawmakers are going well, and a bill could come “very soon.”

The Federal Reserve, however, has avoided commenting on the proposal. Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve chairman, said, “It doesn’t seem acceptable to me to speculate on political ideas or fiscal policy.”

Economists are also concerned about a potential recession and the economic impact of new tariffs from the Trump administration. Jonathan Ernest, an economics professor, told CNBC that the Trump administration’s policies could “destabilize the economy” enough to warrant a “stimulus check.”

Who Would Receive the DOGE Payment?

Fishback’s plan would only give payments to households above a certain income level, unlike the pandemic-era checks, which were sent “indiscriminately.” Newsweek reported that “The stimulus checks from DOGE savings have not been formally approved by Congress.”

Until Congress passes a bill, which Fishback says is in progress, no payments will be sent, and there’s no set timeline.
