Post the demonetisation move that came with its fair set of pros and cons, the market is back to running on currency notes now. But only 75 per cent of the currency is back in circulation, as per a recent statistical data released by the Reserve Bank of India( RBI).

The value of notes in circulation in November 2016 was 17742.00, which deeply plunged to 8734.16 in January this year. It revived to an not-so-impressive figure of 14304.50 in May 2017, as the full currency has not come back. Almost 19 per cent decline has been observed in total currency in May 2017.

In November, the government had said that the currency is likely to revive three months after demonetisation. It came back by only 75 per cent in double the time.
