Except for few homes in Aizawl and some parts of Mizoram joined hands in the 9 Baje 9 Minute call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Few houses in the state have joined Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai in lighting candles following Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s call in expressing resolve to collectively fight COVID-19. Pillai along with his wife and some officials lit candles at Raj Bhavan.

However, it is interesting to note that only a few residents joined the prime minister’s call in Mizoram.

Most families, though, had held prayers seeking divine intervention to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Narendra Modi had on Friday urged the people of all over the country to switch off the lights of their homes and light up lamps, candles or mobile phone torches for nine minutes at 9 pm on April 5 to display the country’s “collective resolve” to defeat coronavirus.

COVID-19 has significantly impacted the country with infections soaring high every passing day and death toll increasing, it has been a heart-wrenching pandemic.
