Apart from thanking the star cast of the film, the producer also gave a special mention to Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra as they were assistant directors on the sets of My Name is Khan.
On a throwback picture shared by Varun Dhawan on the occasion, Karan wrote “So many brilliant memories I have !! Specially of you signing autographs when you were an AD ( not a star) and of SID’s stoic silences in the face of adversity!!! And ofcourse of @abhivarman smiling!! A rare sight!!!!,” Karan wrote.

The movie won many hearts not only because of the amazing performance by Shahrukh Khan who essayed the role of a person hit by Asperger’s syndrome but also because of the beautiful songs.
Sidharth Malhotra too posted a heartfelt tweet on the completion of 9 years of the movie as he worked as an assistant on the sets of this film.
