UPSC Prelims Result 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will soon announce the results for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025. More than 10 lakh students appeared for the test, which took place on May 25 across different exam centers in India.
What Happens after the Prelims?
Students who pass the Prelims will move on to the UPSC Mains Examination, which starts on August 22, 2025. The Mains is a big written test with nine papers. It checks how well candidates understand their subjects and how they analyze different topics.

The UPSC will release the Prelims results as a PDF on its official website, upsc.gov.in. This list will only show the roll numbers of those who cleared General Studies Paper I. The exact marks and category-wise cutoffs will come out later, after the final results.
Through this recruitment drive 979 vacancies will be filled.
The Commission clarifies that the preliminary exam results will not disclose:
- Individual candidate scores
- Category-wise cutoffs
- All-India rankings
These details will be published only after the complete selection process (Mains + Interview) concludes with the final merit list.
