Xiaomi Launches Giant 5HP Smart AC: Xiaomi has added a new smart air conditioner to its home lineup. It is a tall, floor-standing unit made for bigger rooms. The model is the Mijia Air Conditioner Giant Energy-Saving Floor-Standing 5HP. The 5HP version is on sale in China for 7,999 yuan, which is about $1,190. Xiaomi says it can cool and heat quickly. It also includes AI-driven power management and lets the unit link up with a smart home setup.
Xiaomi plans this model for larger apartments and also for small business spaces. It is meant for areas around 50 to 80 square metres. The release follows a growing interest in high-capacity air systems that can bring temperatures into range faster. At the same time, the goal is not to raise power use by a lot.

At the heart of the new Mijia floor-standing AC is a 38.6cc high-displacement compressor, paired with a dual-row condenser and a large dual-row evaporator. The hardware is designed to improve heat exchange and deliver strong performance in larger rooms.
According to the product specifications, the unit offers a maximum cooling capacity of 13,200W and a maximum heating capacity of 17,250W. Xiaomi claims it can begin delivering rapid cooling in around 30 seconds and heating in around 60 seconds.
Unlike some conventional systems, the model is reported to rely on its heat-pump system rather than auxiliary electric heating. It is designed to operate across a wide outdoor temperature range, from -35°C to 65°C, making it suitable for more demanding climate conditions.
Strong Airflow With a 17-Metre Reach
For air circulation, Xiaomi has equipped the indoor unit with a 120mm fan wheel and a large 181mm air outlet. The system can deliver up to 1,850 cubic metres of airflow per hour, with a claimed reach of up to 17 metres.
The air conditioner also supports a 115-degree wide-angle airflow and multi-directional air distribution. This allows users to direct airflow along the ceiling or floor rather than having cold or hot air blow directly at them, potentially making the experience more comfortable in larger shared spaces.
AI Energy Saving
Xiaomi highlights energy efficiency as a key feature in its new AC. The Mijia Giant Energy-Saving Floor-Standing 5HP is listed as Class 1, with an APF value of 3.75. In Xiaomi’s own description, an intelligent energy-saving engine and matching algorithms can cut total energy use by more than 20% based on the company’s test settings. Xiaomi also puts the expected annual power savings at about 972 kWh versus models that use more energy.

Smart Controls and Self-Diagnostics
The new Mijia floor standing air conditioner matches the usual Mijia style. It fits into Xiaomi’s smart setup right away. You can use the Mijia app to change settings and also talk to it with XiaoAI. It connects through HyperOS Connect too.
The release says the system can check hardware faults from the cloud. It claims coverage for as many as 122 issue types. It also gets updates over the air. After you buy it, the supported parts and system functions can be improved through those updates.

Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mijia floor unit, a giant 5HP air conditioner with power saving features, is being sold in China on JD.com. The current listed cost is 7,999 yuan. Some buyers say they might get a cheaper deal if local subsidy programs apply to them. As of now, there is no official statement on whether it will launch in India or any other countries.
