Palamu Police Patrol Vehicles With GPS: Palamu Police has received 31 new patrol vehicles to improve movement and help officers reach people faster during emergencies. The vehicles were added to the police fleet on Saturday at the police lines in Daltonganj.
Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary flagged off the vehicles during the programme. The new fleet will be used by police stations and outposts in both urban and rural parts of the district. The move is expected to make patrolling easier and help police teams reach difficult areas without much delay. SP Kapil Chaudhary said the new vehicles would help officers respond faster when people need police assistance.
“Our mobility will be faster. It will further reduce police response time and bring us closer to the caller in distress,” the SP said.
The new vehicles also come at a time when several older vehicles kept at police stations and outposts have become difficult to use. Many seized vehicles have remained there for years and their condition has worsened.
GPS And PA Systems Added To New Vehicles
The vehicles have been given features that can help police teams during regular patrols and emergency work. Sadar SDPO Rajesh Yadav said all 31 vehicles have GPS systems. This will allow police officials to track their movement and help with better deployment.
The vehicles also have public address (PA) systems. These can be useful when police need to make announcements in public places or during emergency situations.
The new vehicles can carry seven police personnel. They also have five-speed gearboxes and higher ground clearance. This makes them more suitable for rural roads and areas where the road conditions aren’t always easy.

Focus On Faster Police Response
The main aim of the new fleet is to improve the connection between police teams and people in need. Faster vehicles can be useful when officers have to respond to calls from villages or reach places where normal vehicles may face problems.
Jharkhand Police had earlier introduced Shakti Mobile patrol vehicles with special attention on the safety of women, girls and children. The latest addition has a wider focus on general police mobility and quicker emergency response.
The respective police stations and outposts will handle fuel and other running costs of the new vehicles. The latest deployment is part of the Chief Minister’s ‘Aap Ki Suraksha, Hamari Zimmedari’ programme. The new fleet is expected to give Palamu Police more operational support across the district.
