Should I Choose a Small Finance Bank?

Small finance banks often offer higher interest rates than large commercial banks. However, you shouldn’t always choose the bank offering the highest interest rate.

Before investing, take a look at the bank’s financial situation. How long will your money be invested? What is the penalty if you withdraw early? And what deposit insurance does the bank offer?

Eligible deposits up to Rs. 5 lakh will be covered by the DICGC. This includes both the principal and interest. This applies to each depositor for each bank, as per the rules set by the DICGC. This is calculated across different branches of the same bank.
