After Jehanabad, health dept negligence in Bihar's Nawada; girl dies due to lack of oxygen

Days after mother lost her three-year-old innocent child wandering for an ambulance in Jehanabad, another health dept negligence has been reported from Bihar’s Nawada.

A child died due to lack of oxygen at Sadar Hospital. However, the principal Secretary, Department of Health Sanjay Kumar has taken cognizance of the matter and sought a report from the Civil Surgeon (CS) along with treatment detail as well as the entire case.

In fact, the father, who brought his child to Nawada Sadar Hospital, was repeatedly giving up oxygen, but he was not provided with oxygen. The father alleges that his child was given a substandard mask and oxygen was not planted, causing her to die.

The helpless father is being repeatedly told the civil surgeon (CS), “Sir, my daughter could have been saved if you were conscious. The negligence of you people took the life of my child.”

When asked by the civil surgeon, he said that action will be taken against the guilty. It clearly means that civil surgeons also do not assume that there was a mistake and another innocent has lost their lives due to mistake.

However, the Principal Secretary, Department of Health has taken up the matter seriously and has sought the entire report including treatment detail from the civil surgeon of Nawada, now it is to see what further action is taken so that the negligence of the health department so that lives are saved.
