With operators launching aggressive plans to match Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel has apparently decided to eliminate the national roaming charges for both voice and data services. Airtel which has about 268 million users is giving a neck to neck competition to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance JioInfocomm. Sources also said that there will be no additional data charges when on roaming.
“The company is all set to offer free incoming calls/ SMSes on national roaming and there will be no premium on outgoing calls”, said sources as per Business Standard.
Airtel takes up the new policy of calling “customer is the king”, is even more evident ever since Jio’s entry triggered a price war in India. In the times of turbulence in the telecom sector, Airtel is offering a list of services to ensure they stay strong in the game.
However, Airtel has made no official announcement regarding this, but here are a list of services they are to provide:
- Free incoming calls/ SMSes on national roaming
- No premium on outgoing calls
- No domestic roaming charges on its network for both voice and data services
- Simplify activation and billing for consumers who travel overseas
