Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) sarpanch Daljit Kaur’s husband, Paramjit Singh and son Gurjit have been booked for assaulting a pregnant nurse in Moga, Punjab. The assault took place after the pair was asked to wait their turn. The nurse was slapped and pushed so hard by the two men that she fell to the ground.

The father-son duo was at the hospital to get a relative discharged when this incident took place. The police have booked both the accused under Sections 451 (house trespass to commit an offence), 323 (punishment for causing hurt voluntarily), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intent in crime) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Baghapurana in Moga district.

“I only had asked them to wait outside as they were sitting on seats meant for staff. They could not take it and began to abuse me… to which I objected but they slapped me and pushed me to the floor, they hit me even though I said requested them to spare me because of my condition,” said the nurse to NDTV.

CCTV footage shows Paramjit and Gurjit shouting at hospital staff and then beating up the nurse while she was talking to them. The video, which has gone viral, clearly shows the duo pushing and slapping the nurse.
