Once again Internet is flooded with a new yet creepy challenge, posing a threat to teenagers.

After the horrifying Blue Whale challenges that had claimed over 130 teenage lives last year in Russia, comes a new challenge – Momo Challenge – that has made upto headlines now. Recently surfaced on internet, the Momo challenge is proving to be deadly as the so-called game is being linked to the death of a 12-year-old-girl in Argentina.

What is Momo Challenge?

The challenge reportedly started on Facebook where people were told to chat with a stranger via an unknown number on WhatsApp. They’re then challenged to complete a series of dangerous tasks in hopes of meeting “Momo” – a bird-women character which has a display picture of a creepy, thin woman with bulging eyes.

The challenge begins as the participant receives a text from Momo. Momo reportedly sends disturbing and violent images and threatens the recipient if they refuse to participate. Throughout, Momo encourages the recipient to perform cruel acts and commit suicide. The unknown number calls and uncomfortable noises are heard, as though someone is crying in pain.

Argentina girl took Momo challenge, died –

As per the many international reports, a 12-year-old girl from Argentina recently died after participating in the terrifying ‘Momo challenge’. The girl reportedly received messages from an unknown individual named ‘Momo’. The girl recorded a video saying that she committed suicide because of Momo.

Currently, it has been reported that the challenge is viral in Japan, Colombia and Mexico. Till now, there have been no reports of the challenge reaching India however, in the global world with things just a click away from you, it won’t be long till ‘Momo’ arrives India.
