In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was raped by a group of men last week, and what more distressing about the matter is that instead of granting justice, Aligarh Panchayat proposed Rs 80,000 monetary deal from the accused to let them walk away free.

According to the police, the victim was caught, dragged and sexually harassed by the four men at an isolated place on last Wednesday evening when she was out to relieve herself. The victim’s parents are no more, therefore she told her ordeal to her aunt who eventually told her brother on Thursday morning.

After the family of girl informed the villagers of the act, a panchayat was convened on Friday where panchayat shockingly asked the accused to pay Rs 80 thousand as compensation to the survivor and settle the case.
