Amazon fires worker for ‘Uncle Adolf’ note in parcel for Jewish woman

An Amazon worker allegedly put a note in a parcel for a Jewish mother in the UK that read “Greetings from Uncle Adolf” has been fired by the company.

The customer found the note in a package of toys for her niece.

“When she told us about the note she was shaking — she’s a very gentle and humble lady. She does a lot for charity — both Jewish and non-Jewish — and helps all members of the community, that is why she took it very badly,” the lady’s friend was quoted by Mirror as saying.

The note was believed to be placed by the Amazon staff because it was found in the Amazon packaging but not within the product.

Within 20 minutes of reporting the incident, the police took the toy, packaging and the note for forensic testing.

Amazon took the matter seriously and dismissed the employee involved in the incident. “We take this incident seriously and have apologised to the customer. We have investigated the matter and dismissed the individual involved,” the company spokesperson was quoted by Mirror as saying.
