Amid the spate of ongoing FIFA world cup, few farmers of the silk industry, who had been on strike for not getting wages, were seen playing football with the photos of MP’s CM Shivraj Singh stuck around the ball.
On arrival of such reports to the police, the football game was brought to halt and the ball, which had Shivraj’s photos stuck all over, was confiscated.
When asked to farmers as why they had pasted the photo of CM over the ball, one of the farmers said “we have been used as a football throughout the year, without granting us the wages. Now it is our turn. We will play football with Shivraj’s photo.”
The incident took place amid the anguish protest that has been going for past seven days now. The farmers of the silk industry in Madhya Pradesh are displeased for not getting their due wages. They have been making constant complaints about the same, which have not been acknowledged by any of the state officials.
