Amidst chaos a shot at Peace: The Lighthouse Project

Updated on :
The Lighthouse Project for Indo- Pak peace is India”s first website dedicated exclusively to binding India and Pakistan through art, literature, culture and heritage.
NewsD is the Digital Media partner for the Contest.
Initiated by Katherine Abraham the Lighthouse Project is a project that started off because of the Director’s experiences on Twitter and Facebook with a few Pakistani friends. The whole idea took shape when she realised that both sides of the border are divided by politics but culture, history and culinary delights are virtually the same. With other projects having their focal point on the politics and International relations between the two countries, this project aims to be a vehicle for accelerating soft power relations between both countries.
The Lighthouse Team consists of young people from both sides of the border.
Keeping this in mind the Lighthouse project launched its first essay contest in 2016 which was a hit among youngsters. To keep the tempo up the Team at Lighthouse has launched the first Indo Pak Photo Peace initiative with the International federation of Indian Sub Continent Entrepreneurs a.k.a IFISE. An international photography professional Mr. Athif Ali Khan will be rewarding the first prize winner with a personalised digital photography course.
The Judges include Mr. Sajid Dadabhoy, Mr. Shabbir Ali Siraj and Mr.  Atif Qureshi. Mrs. Shazia Amir is the Moderator for the contest. The last date for entries has been extended to 30th March, 2017.
