Happy Birthday Anupam Kher: Bollywood’s noted actor Anupam Kher will turn a year older on March 7. May it be a comic role, a serious role, or a role of a villain, if any actor in Bollywood can nail any given character in a film, then it is veteran actor Anupam Kher. Some of his notable films include, A Wednesday, Karma, and Saaransh.
The actor has also made a name for himself in Hollywood with films like Silver Lining Playbook.
On the occasion of Anupam Kher’s 66th birthday, here are the list of movies where the actor has nailed the role of antagonist:
Anupam combined his comic abilities and bad guy vibes to create Tribhuvan Das, the man hellbent on torturing Sita, along with his wife, who played Rohini Hattangadi. While he is menacing in the first part of the film, in the second half he generates many laughs.
Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
Anupam was seen in the negative character where he does not let Amisha and her boyfriend Rohan unite and tried to hit every bit to make them stay apart from each other but fails at the end. As, most of us have watched the movie, but Anupam’s character played a turning point in the story and this was time people had started liking Kher in negative characters too.
The veteran actor played the lead villain in his movie and by this time people were not used to see Anupam in negative characters. Due to his good man image in movies like Saaransh, his negative character was not appreciated too much but that was the time when he was experimenting with characters and thus gave it a go. Years after he had done almost 100 movies, people are linking his negative character and are even one of the memorable ones.
In this film, Anupam Kher played a brutal father to soft-hearted daughter Mohini who is forced to dance by her drunkard father who is played by Anupam Kher. The lead actors of the movie were Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit but Anupam’s league of playing negative character came to be acknowledged with such movies.
It was such a great delight to watch Anupam Kher’s character of Hajari Lal, the penny-wise, immensely greedy father of Aamir Khan. This movie portrayed the comic side of the actor which he shone in brightly.
