Smriti Irani Kyunki: The wait is finally over, and the fresh version of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is ready to hit the screens tonight at 10:30 PM. Fans are super excited and social media is already flooded with talk about the reboot. People can’t help but compare it with Anupamaa, which is currently one of the most loved shows on Indian TV. But instead of competition, the new promo brought something really heartwarming a special video call between two big stars of Indian television, Smriti Irani and Rupali Ganguly.
In this promo that dropped today before the grand launch, Smriti Irani, who played Tulsi in the original Kyunki, joins Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa on a video call.

During the call, Anupamaa asks Tulsi about her return, and Tulsi replies with warmth, saying, “Wapis kaise na aati, apno ke beech, apne parivaar ke beech.” Anupamaa responds with a smile and says, “Welcome back to the family, Tulsi ji.” She also adds, “Mere pure Anupamaa parivaar ko Kyunki parivaar ka besabri se intezaar rahega” reported News 18. The moment felt like one beautiful family welcoming another with open arms.
Ektaa Kapoor Reacts to Comparison
As the show’s premiere got closer, many people online started comparing Kyunki with Anupamaa, even suggesting there might be some sort of rivalry. But Ektaa Kapoor, the creator of Kyunki, cleared the air. She said she saw some videos online where people claimed Anupamaa might have a problem with Kyunki returning, and she felt bad about it.
She said, “Yesterday I was seeing some videos of Anupamaa having a problem as Kyunki is coming. I felt that was in such bad taste. She [Rupali] is such a big star. Anupamaa, the show, the creator Rajan… has done what nobody else could do in the last seven years. They will continue to be number 1. They should continue to be number 1.”

Ektaa also explained that they aren’t trying to compete, they are here just to share their story. She said the comparisons are unfair, especially when it’s about women or lead shows. She added, “These unfair comparisons between lead characters and lead shows are so unnecessary. Pitting women against each other, pitting content against each other, is so uncalled for.”
Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa has been a big success since it began. It gave Rupali Ganguly a strong comeback and became famous for showing real-life family struggles, changing values, and emotional ups and downs. The show connected deeply with viewers.
On the other side, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi already made history once. It ran for over eight years and had more than 1,800 episodes. People still remember Tulsi’s character, and the original show became a household name thanks to Ektaa Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms.
