Comedian Kapil Sharma is facing a backlash from the fans after he supported Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comment on Pulwama attack.
Now in a recent interview, Kapil Sharma has opened up about the Pulwama attack that left the country in shock after 44 CRPF men were killed.
“People might have different opinions on how to deal with the perpetrators of terrorism, but we should not get distracted by it. The biggest tribute that we can pay to our martyrs is to show solidarity with their families in this hour of grief. I’m sure our armed forces will give a befitting reply to the terrorists and their handlers in Pakistan,” Kapil said.
Kapil and his show landed in trouble after Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comment on Pulwama terror attack which said, “one nation cannot be held responsible for the dastardly attack.” The angered netizens started a trend #BoycottSidhu after which reports of the guest being sacked out of the show were doing rounds.
In a recent interview, the comedian by supporting Sidhu’s comment said banning someone or sacking is not the solution to this larger issue.
Kapil spoke about the controversy at an Art of Living event on Monday. “These are very small things, or can also be a part of propaganda. I feel banning someone or sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show is not the solution. We need to look for a permanent solution,”
Talking about the Pulwama attack, Kapil said “We are with the government but still we need a permanent solution. The cowardly act in Pulwama that killed our soldiers shouldn’t be forgotten and the culprits should be punished,” he added.
Kapil’s support towards Sidhu angered the netizens, following which another trend had started #BoycottKapilSharma. Recently, producer Ashoke Pandit has also requested Salman Khan who is co-producer of The Kapil Sharma show to take action against the comedian.
