Itanagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against four members of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) in a case related to the ambush of Arunachal Pradesh MLA Tirong Aboh and others on May 21, 2019.
The NIA, in a statement, said, “Investigation has established that members of the terrorist group of NSCN (IM) conspired to commit the terrorist act of killing Tirong Aboh, MLA Khonsa, and 10 others.”
NIA filed the charge sheet against four in this case. They are Luckin Mashangva, Jai Kishan Sharma, Yangte Josaham and Napong Jenpi.
It added that the attack was a part of a larger conspiracy against Aboh following his opposition to anti-development and extortion activities of NSCN(IM) in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh and ten others were shot in May 2019. All of them killed near Pansum Thong village in Tirap by armed cadres of the terrorist group, said NIA in the statement. Tirong Aboh and 11 others were killed in the attack while three had sustained injuries.
NIA issued the statement “The members of the terrorist group of NSCN(IM) had on earlier occasion threatened MLA, Khonsa and his supporters for their opposition to criminal activities of NSCN(IM). In pursuance of this conspiracy, on 21.05.2019, the members of this terrorist group fired with sophisticated weapons in an ambush at the convoy of MLA, Khonsa leading to the death of eleven people and injuries to three others.”
