Asian Games 2018: Apurvi, Ravi win India its first medal in Shooting

India opens its medal tally at the 2018 Asian Games by winning a bronze medal in the finale of the 10m Air Rifle mixed team event. Shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar won India a bronze in shooting by scoring 429.9. Earlier these two shooters had won bronze for India in women’s and men’s 10m Air Rifle events at 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Making its first ever, China won its maiden medal this time in Asian Games. China won 2 medals in total, one gold and one silver in two different sports, Taekwondo and shooting. Recorded highest so far, Chinese Taipei won four medals in total, one gold in shooting, two bronze in Taekwondo and another bronze in Wushu.

So far ten countries have opened their medal tally at the Asian Games 2018 –

  1. India won 1 bronze
  2. China won 1 gold and 1 silver
  3. Chinese Taipei on1 gold and 3 bronze
  4. Korea won 2 gold, 1 siver and 1 bronze
  5. Indonesia won 1 silver
  6. IR Iran won 1 silver
  7. Philippines won 2 bronze
  8. Malaysia won 1 bronze
  9. Thailand won 1 bronze
  10. Vietnam wom 2 bronze
