Assandh is one of the 90 constituencies to go for polls for Haryana Legislative Assembly on October 21. It falls in the Karnal district. Bakhshish Singh Virk is the current MLA of Assandh.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, BJP candidate Bakhshish Singh Virk defeated BSP candidate Maratha Virender Verma by over 4 thousand votes.
