Arsalan Khawaja, 39, the brother of Australian cricket sensation Usman Khawaja has been arrested by police over his alleged use of fake documents. The documents gathered, reportedly consisted of a terror plot to kill politicians which Khawaja used in order to set up his colleague after a fight broke between the two.

Arsalan’s car was pulled over by the police while he was driving in Sydney. The police authorities said that he was being questioned for forgery.

On Tuesday’s afternoon(Australia time), Khawaja appeared at the Parramatta Local Court where he was granted bail under few conditions. Some of them are, a $50,000 surety provided by his father, surrendering the passport and not going beyond 100 metres of the University of NSW.

The arrest comes after Mohamed Kamer Nilar Nizamdeen, a PhD working at University of New South Wales was taken into custody mistakenly in August this year. Nizamdeen was kept in solitary confinement for four weeks following the discovery of the notebook which contained the fake terrorist attack plot.

Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja has requested for privacy to his family.
