Along with Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal, John Abraham’s Batla House also released on August 15. While Mission Mangal opened fantastically on the first day, Batla House too witnessed the decent opening.
John Abraham film scored decent at the box office as it minted Rs 14.59 crore on its first day.

Helmed by Nikkhil Advani, Batla House is touted to be a retelling of the 2008 encounter with alleged terrorists that took place in Batla House in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. John played the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who was a real-life key figure in the Delhi Police’s special cell.
The film is expected to face tough competition because of a clash with Mission Mangal. Although, the film can grow over the weekend.
