Salman Khan starrer Bharat was released yesterday on the festival of Eid. The film on an opening day has recorded smashing numbers at the box office.
The period drama helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar as created history by collecting a hefty amount of Rs 42.30 core on Day 1. The film has beaten the record of Salman’s 2015 release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 40.35 crore). It has emerged as the biggest opener of his career.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted series if tweets and shared insight into the roaring performance of the film on an opening day. He said that the film’s business was “mind-boggling” despite tough competition from the much-hyped cricket match between India and South Africa yesterday. He called Salman the “biggest crowd puller.”

Bharat received positive and rave reviews from film critics across the country. The word of mouth, too, is favorable, which encouraged on-spot bookings and helped it stay strong throughout the day.
The movie stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. It also features Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani and Tabu in important roles, among others. The film is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean drama Ode To My Father.
