Patna: As political temperatures rise ahead of the Bihar assembly elections later this year, all eyes are on Chirag Paswan, the chief of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union minister, who is strongly being tipped to contest for the first time.
The buzz intensified after the party’s recent executive meeting, where a unanimous resolution was passed urging Chirag to enter the assembly fray.
Adding fuel to the speculation, his brother-in-law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti posted on social media that Chirag’s long-standing motto — “Bihar First, Bihari First” — can only be fulfilled if he leads from the front, within Bihar.

Arun Bharti highlighted that during his visits as state in-charge, he consistently heard from party workers and locals that they wanted Chirag to play a bigger leadership role in Bihar. He also suggested that Chirag should contest from a general (non-reserved) seat to signal that his leadership is for all sections of society, not just one community.
“Chirag Paswan today is not just a representative of a section; he is the hope of all Bihar,” Bharti wrote, emphasizing that such a move would reshape the politics of social justice in the state by combining representation with universal appeal.
