Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ram Kripal Yadav, who was surveying his Lok Sabha constituency in flood-hit rural Patna on Wednesday night, fell into a river as his make-shift boat over turned. The incident took place in Dhanarua block of rural Patna, which falls under the Pataliputra Lok Sabha segment.

Yadav was riding a contraption made with the help of tyre tubes tied to bamboo shafts, apparently on account of non-availability of boats, to cross the Dardha along with some of his supporters.

As quoted in several reports, Yadav said that state administration is only focusing on Patna and no one in paying attention towards the rural areas where thousands of people are facing the brunt of floods.

The BJP MP added that people are crying and cattle are dying due to unavailability of food. he further said that though he is an MP even he was not provided a boat by the state government to visit the flood affected areas and he had to use a makeshift boat to visit flooded areas.
