On Monday, Yadav brushed aside questions on growing demands for his resignation. “My resignation is not an issue. The BJP and media have created hype,” he had said.
But, Kumar, last week, had said that he wanted a public clarification from RJD top leaders over the allegations. He also indicated that he expected Yadav to resign from the post.
The clash in the alliance deepened when RJD chief Lalu Yadav rejected Kumar’s demand, and said, “Tejashwi Yadav will not step down under any circumstances.”
The party leaders said the Congress and other senior leaders from within the alliance have started coming forward to mediate between Kumar and Lalu, though none of the top JD (U) leaders gave any statement.
