Bihar: CPIM' Sangharsh rally against Modi and Nitish govt

CPI (M) rallied thousands of people yesterday in R.B.College of Dalsingsarai in Samastipur district of Bihar under the banner of “Bhaajpa Hatao, Samvidhaan Bachao”. It was attended by allies of the Left front i.e. CPI and CPI (ML) Liberation. CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, AIKS General Secretary Hanna Mollah, CPM Bihar state secretary Awadhesh Kumar, Politburo member of CPI (ML) Liberation Raja Ram Singh, and National Council member of the CPI, Jabbar Alam addressed the audience.

The rally had clear agenda of hitting hard at the politics and policies of both the BJP in the center and JDU-BJP in Bihar. All the leaders emphasized the anti-people policies of the Modi government and communal tactics of the RSS-BJP.

Raja Ram Singh of the CPI (ML) liberation said, “Country since 2014 is directionless. By grace of Modiji, the working class, farmers are bleeding much more than ever. Labour laws are re-shaped to benefit the ultra-rich and still MSP is a distant dream for the farmers.”

All India Kisan Sabha General Secretary Hannan Mollah said, “The government which ignores and hurts the labour and farmer deserves to be defeated and thrown out of power. The recent struggle of the farmers and agricultural labourers in M.P, Rajasthan, Maharshtra has shown the BJP their right place. Before 2019 elections we ensured that plight of farmers and labour become the central point of discussion. In every village now a days there’s a slogan, Narendra Modi- Kisan Virodhi. On contrary to govt. policies, we have given a new slogan- Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Samvidhan.”

The CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury was the most awaited speaker. He echoed while addressing people, “For more than four and half years we have heard a name of leader but this country much more than this- Neta nahi, Neeti Chahiye. The economic policies and communalism have done more damage to us as a nation. Even the allies of BJP are not sure about future of Modi government so only Ram Vilas Paswan is hell bent demanding a Rajya Sabha seat instead fighting lok sabha polls.”

In conversation with Newsd, Sitaram Yechury said, “Today’s rally was with an aim- To save India defeat Modi and to save Bihar defeat Nitish. This has three dimensions and they are- A). Worsening condition of farmers, youth and every section of society due to bad economic policies. To make their future better, he needs to be defeated. B). All efforts to communally polarize the society are in action by targeting the unity and diversity of our nation. C). All institutions of parliamentary democracy are under attack be it Judiciary, CBI or RBI. Supreme Court Judges registered their complaint against the government publicly. There is open loot by few ultra-rich capitalists who ran away siphoning tax-payers money.”

When asked about Left’s decision to join the Mahagathbandhan he replied, “In contemporary situation, Left parties will join the secular forces to defeat Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. The seat sharing and strategy is to be chalked out but our purpose is same.”

CPM Bihar State Secretary Awdhesh Kumar while talking to Newsd said, “BJP’s hooliganism is on rise. They are challenging Indian Constitution; they do not obey Supreme Court’s order. They are trying to muzzle down voice of farmers and labour. Indefinite strike of ASHA workers since 22 days is one example of it but Nitish Ji and Sushil Modi do not have time to address and solve their grievances. Rest to confront BJP we are open to anti-BJP front in form of Mahagathbandhan. ”

Mahagathbandhan, An Option or Not:

It must be noted that during last Bihar assembly elections- the Left front kept aloof from Garand alliance (RJD-JDU-INC). This time again such a situation has arrived. Almost all leader of the Left parties in Bihar have assured support to the Grand alliance but final decision is yet to come. And moreover, when the number of constituents of Magathbandhan is swelling day by day, seat distribution will be a bigger challenge with perspective of Left parties.

It is said that the CPM may pitch harder to contest the Ujiarpur parliamentary seat which presently is being held by BJP’s Nityananda Rai. This is said on basis of party’s continuous mass contact programme in Ujiarpur through series of mass rallies with an aim to strengthen the Left allies and anti-BJP parties. A similar anti-BJP rally was organized by CPI and CPI (ML) in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan in month of October and September. Separate showcase of strength in sequence by all the three Left parties’ signal preparation for electoral battle of 2019.
