Bihar Election: Bihar Elections are round the corner and all political parties are seen campaigning these days, there is a lot of buzz about the election and it will be interesting to see wins this time.
In the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, transgender Monica Das will discharge duty as the presiding officer. It should be noted that this is the first time that a transgender will be appointed as a presiding officer in the country for elections.
Monica belongs to Patna and is the country’s first transgender banker. Currently, he is working at Canara Bank. From voting to monitoring, Monica will be taking full responsibility for the booth.
As per reports, Monica will be getting training on the responsibilities on October 8. Before him, transgender Riya who is a school teacher was appointed as a polling officer in West Bengal assembly elections. Monika Das is a Gold Medalist in Law from Patna University, she also won the Face of Patna beauty contest.
It should be noted that the Presiding Officer should get acquainted with the members of the Polling Party and keep in touch with them. Also, all relevant instructions of the returning officer have to be prepared. There should be all information about the location and itinerary of the polling station. All rehearsal and training classes related to the election should be attended. One should be cautious while taking election material. The key is to ensure that all voters are treated fairly and with respect.
