Bihar: Hungry pig runs away with 2-day-old baby from hospital

Patna: In a horrifying incident, a pig was spotted carrying a newborn infant in its jaws at the Sadar hospital at Saharsa district, Bihar, on Wednesday.

According to the reports, stray pig entered the hospital with a baby’s body lying in a compound adjacent to the hospital premises. While people tried to fetch the running pig but couldn’t as it fled away in the deserted forest.

As quoted by a national tabloid, Dr Anil Kumar, the Saharsa Sadar hospital’s deputy superintendent said that “The pig with the body between its jaws was first seen outside the hospital. Vested interests drove the pig through the hospital premises just to malign the hospital and its security arrangements.”

Kumar added that the two-day-old baby was unclaimed and the hospital in its records did not have any mention of a baby dying in recent days.

The incident took place just two days after a dog was seen carrying an severed leg of a patient in the Buxar Sadar hospital.
