In the latest development in high-profile Srijan scam case, IAS officer Amit Kumar who was investigating the case was transferred by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. So far, 10 FIRs have been registered in Bihar’s famous NGO scandal. At the same time, the figure of embezzlement has also reached to 884 crores.

Around 12 people including the second man, Atul Kumar, manager of Bank of Baroda’s Bhagalpur branch have also been arrested and sent to jail. Before sending the jail, the police’s SIT and the Economic Offenses Wing team conducted a deep inquiry. According to the latest information, Subhash Kumar of Bhagalpur and Sanjay Mandal of Banka along with Supaul’s co-operation officer, Pankaj Kumar Jha has also been detained.

Now, Nitish Kumar in a surprising move has transferred Kumar. Kumar has been made Lakhisarai’s district magistrate.

Recently, Bihar’s leader of opposition, Tejashwi Yadav demanded a CBI probe into the Rs 1,000 crore Srijan scam. In the scam, the government funds were transferred to private accounts amid 2005 and 2013. BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi was the state’s finance minister then.

“It is high time that chief minister, Nitish Kumar recommend a CBI probe into Srijan scam as he has repeatedly been claiming zero tolerance against corruption,” said Tejashwi Yadav. He is in Bhagalpur for his ongoing Janadesh Apman Yatra. His father and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief, Lalu Prasad also reiterated his demands for CBI probe on Thursday.
