Gaya: A 16-year-old girl was found beheaded in Gaya which led to massive protest against the local police. According to locals, the teenager went missing from her home. Her body was found in a decomposed state. The family has alleged rape whereas police have a suspicion of murder planned by her family.
On 6th January resident of Pehani colony, Turaj Prasad’s 16-year-old daughter, Anjana Kumari was found dead with her head and body lying apart. She used to work in a factory in Sitadahu and was last seen near Pehani Park on the same day of missing. She went missing on 28th December.
Yesterday, the Gaya town witnessed a silent candle march from Patwa Toli to Durga Sthan organized by social activists and locals. Then this went on to become a public meeting at the Tower Chowk. With two minute silence, there was a demand to have a speedy probe and arrest of culprits on an immediate basis.

People in the town have continuously been protesting against the police for the delay in their actions and demanded the arrest of those involved in the crime. Slogans of ‘Justice for Anjana’ is resonating the town.

The girl returned to the house on December 31, 3 days after she left. It was revealed by the girl’s mother and sister. The police added that her father has sent her with a man on the same day at around 10 pm. It is also alleged that at first parents of the deceased girl were hesitant in registering FIR but later they went ahead with it.
While the girl’s family is continuously alleging that it is a case of rape and murder, the police have a whole different stance on the matter. According to Rajiv Mishra, SSP Gaya- Fresh inputs of the investigation indicate involvement of someone whom she already knew. All aspects of the case are under investigation. We shall reveal the truth at the earliest with action against the culprit.
