Bihar: Rehabilitation home to be set up for flood victims in 10 districts

Patna: In 100 panchayats of 10 districts, a decision of building “Shelter Home” has been taken by Bihar government. 10 districts selected for construction of rehabilitation home with a number of respective panchayats are- Araria-14 panchayats; Darbhanga-13; Kathihar-12; East Champaran-10; West Champaran-10; Sitamadhi-10; Purnea-10; Madhubani-8; Kishanganj-8 and Shivhar-5.

In total, there are 30 flood prone districts in the state. The first installment of Rs. 10 crore is released from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Each rehabilitation home will meet an expenditure of Rs 1 crore.

There are many such districts which have remained unaffected from the flood, previously but in the last few years they have also met the devastation. In this context, on 10th December 2018, the disaster management submitted the proposal to construct shelter home.

Chief engineer of the building construction department, Upendra Narayan instructed the engineers on the proposal. Districts Magistrate of the selected districts is going to make the land available for rehabilitation.
