The Supreme Court on Thursday will pronounce its verdict in the Bihar topper scam case. The matter is itemized in court 11 as item no. 1A. Earlier last month, the Patna High Court provided conditional bail to Bihar topper scam key player Bachcha Rai. He received bail after not being sentenced by the lower court within a month.
Rai was detained in June last year after he gives in before the police. He is the Secretary-cum Principal of Vishun Rai College in Vaishali district of Bihar. This is same college from where Arts and Science toppers Ruby Rai and Saurabh Shrestha belonged to. They were involved in the exam racket.
The inquiry showed that Rai was a key player in the case. He took help of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). Last year, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) detained Bihar state board Class XII Arts topper Ruby Rai in the case.
Eventually, a charge sheet was filed against former BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, his wife and former JD(U) legislator Usha Sinha, Rai and former board secretary Harharnath Jha.
