Eilish shared the news with fans live from the stage at the Chase Center in San Francisco, before reiterating the announcement on her Instagram. In her message, she described the project as one of her favorite artistic experiences and expressed excitement about bringing the tour to screens around the world.

A Unique Collaboration Between Music and Film

What makes this concert film unique is the participation of James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director who is most known for major films such as Titanic and Avatar. Cameron’s engagement represents a daring rethinking of the old concert film style. The first official trailer, together with Cameron’s words, reveals that the production is using state-of-the-art 3D technology that seeks to “reinvent the concert experience,” thus providing audiences the opportunity of feeling fully immersed in the show.

“We’re using tech that’s never been used before,” Cameron says in the trailer. “No one’s shot a concert film on this scale before.” Eilish and Cameron co-directed the film, gathering footage from the tour as well as behind-the-scenes content.

The joint effort was hinted at earlier during the tour when Eilish teased something “very, very special” going on with a director named James Cameron.

One of the previous live concert films of Eilish, for example, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles (2021), was highly praised for its artistic side and the feel it conveyed to the viewers, but this new film is, by far, her most ambitious endeavor in the field of cinema. With the help of Cameron, she is taking a more direct creative part not only in the production but also in the direction of the film, hence, her being on the camera for the shooting as well.

Billie Eilish’s 3D Concert Film: Release Strategy

Paramount Pictures will distribute the film in partnership with Eilish’s Darkroom Records, Interscope Films and Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment. The March 20, 2026 release positions the project as a spring highlight for music fans and cinema-goers alike, and early ticket access windows have already been announced to build anticipation ahead of general sales.
