BJP declares first list of candidate for Chhattisgarh, denies ticket to 14 MLAs

Bhartiya Janta Party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) on Saturday declared candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana.

Among the 77 candidates announced for Chhattisgarh assembly, 14 sitting MLAs have been replaced with new names, Union minister J P Nadda told media.

38 candidates for Telangana assembly and 13 for Mizoram assembly were also finalized during the meeting, Nadda added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and other BJP leaders attended party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting.
