Amit Shah rally in West Bengal attacked on Friday night at Paschim Midnapore district. This took place hours before BJP president Amit Shah’s rally in Bengal. The rally is scheduled for today (Saturday) at Central Kolkata Mayor Road. A bus was waiting at Paschim Midnapore to carry the Bharatiya Janata Party supporters to the Mayor Road at Central Kolkata where Amit Shah will be addressing the rally, when some unknown miscreants attacked the bus. No one is reported injured, though an FIR has been lodged at Chandrakona town police station.

The rally is seen as an important one as this will be Amit Shah’s first public appearance in public after the National Register of Citizens (NRC) issue. It is expected that the NRC issue will be one of the key points in the rally.

BJP president Shah is expected to fly down to Kolkata for the rally on Saturday evening. Ahead of his visit to Kolkata TMC declared a state-wide protest against the National Register of Citizens in Assam. TMC also launched a poster war to protest against the same. There are ‘anti-Bengal BJP go back’ posters sticked all over on the walls at the Mayor Road where the BJP president Amit Shah will be addressing the rally.
