Bollywood OTT Releases October 2025:
October’s basically the Super Bowl for Indian entertainment. Everyone’s in a festive mood with Dussehra, Diwali, and suddenly every big Bollywood flick and headline-grabbing show wants to hit streaming. You barely get a whiff of new blockbusters online during the dull months, but come October? Just lots of digital premieres, sequels, splashy OTT grabs. Seriously, your watchlist doesn’t stand a chance.

Bollywood OTT Releases October 2025

But here’s the catch, don’t believe every rumored drop date you see floating around Twitter. Sometimes, you’re waiting for a big Friday night premiere, and boom, the platform pulls a disappearing act or quietly pushes the date.

Noticed this pattern, too: the mega Bollywood blockbusters the ones with flying cars, slow-mo hero entries, love to cozy up with Netflix or Prime Video. Makes sense, those guys have the cash and the eyeballs. Sony LIV and ZEE5 are more into the series game, regional gems, or random B-list Bollywood drops. Not saying there’s no crossover, though.

Bollywood OTT Releases October 2025 on Prime Video

Madharaasi: October 1, 2025 (Confirmed)

One of the firmer OTT dates confirmed is Madharaasi, a psychological-action thriller directed by A. R. Murugadoss starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, and Vidyut Jammwal. It is slated to premiere on Prime Video right on October 1.

This early-October drop gives Prime a strong lead in the Bollywood action-thriller slate. Audiences will watch keenly to see how a South Indian-style psychological thriller translates for the Hindi-speaking audience.

Param Sundari, Baaghi 4, Coolie (Hindi) (Expected)

Industry trackers suggest Prime Video may also host Param Sundari (a romantic or dance-infused Bollywood film) and Coolie (Hindi) in October. The Hindi version of Coolie is reportedly being eyed for a Prime Video premiere.

Baaghi 4, starring Tiger Shroff, is confirmed to release theatrically earlier, and while the streaming partner has not been publicly pinned down, many expect it to eventually land on Prime Video.

The uncertainty is typical of high-budget properties: rights deals, windowing, and localization may push finalization close to release.

Netflix

War 2 (Expected)

War 2 Trailer

One of the biggest names on October OTT wishlists is War 2. Reports indicate that Netflix has acquired the streaming rights, and that the film could debut on Netflix in late September or early October following its theatrical run.

Given that War was a huge franchise earlier, War 2 would be a marquee title for Netflix’s Indian catalog if it lands as expected.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra (Expected)

Another anticipated title is Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, a multilingual fantasy-thriller that premiered theatrically around August. Reports strongly suggest it will land on Netflix in October.

For Netflix, this content diversifies their portfolio: not just big action, but also fantasy and scale-driven genre cinema which complements their global library.

If War 2 and Lokah Chapter 1 both arrive, Netflix will carry major Bollywood pull for the month. The advantage for Netflix is that such event films often sustain subscriber engagement better than smaller digital-first titles.

Bollywood OTT Releases October 2025: Sony LIV

One thing to note: Sony LIV hasn’t been the top destination for big Bollywood theatrical releases in recent times. One of their advantages is their success with original web series, niche content, diverse languages, and sequel seasons of their existing IPs.

Gullak 5, Maharani 4 and Other Series Announcements

SONY LIV has announced the next several Hindi web series sequels: Gullak 5, Maharani 4, Undekhi 4, Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, etc. Although their exact dates of release are still unknown, it is quite likely that any of these series could drop in October 2025.

Even if none of them will be released in October, the announcements act as indicators of what Sony LIV is betting on: the serializing of narratives and the perpetuation of audience-favorite franchises.

Occasionally, SonyLIV licenses Bollywood films once their window with bigger platforms is over. Given the “Most-awaited Bollywood OTT releases in October 2025” article mentions SonyLIV in its headline, it’s probable that certain Bollywood films.

However, no confirmed Bollywood theatrical-to-OTT announcements (for October) for SonyLIV have surfaced publicly as of now.

ZEE5

ZEE5 often plays a wildcard, sometimes it picks up smaller Bollywood films or movies that don’t secure top-dollar deals with the big two (Netflix, Prime). But for October 2025, no major Bollywood theatrical-to-OTT announcements on ZEE5 have broken through in trade media.

Another fact: ZEE5 has been home for digital-first or mid-tier Hindi films in past months so it’s possible a Bollywood mid-budget film might land there quietly in October, but as of now, nothing concrete is confirmed.

Bollywood OTT Releases October 2025: JioHotstar

Historically, JioHotstar hasn’t prioritized big Bollywood theatrical premieres in India once larger OTT platforms bid for them but regional content, dubbed films, or second-window licenses still appear. In addition, JioHotstar sometimes picks up popular dubbed content or genre films.

In one relevant mention, It: Welcome to Derry (a non-Bollywood offering) is expected to stream on JioHotstar from October 27. That hints at JioHotstar’s push to deepen its library for October, though not necessarily Bollywood originals.

Trade sources also mention that Karam, a Malayalam thriller releasing theatrically in late September, may stream on JioHotstar in late October. While this is not Bollywood, it reflects JioHotstar’s timing strategy. So if Bollywood films miss initial windows, JioHotstar might become a fallback for them later in October.
