BPSC TRE 4.0 Vacancy 2025: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will soon begin the BPSC TRE 4.0 process to fill over 1,10,000 teaching jobs across the state. This includes around 90,000 new vacancies along with more than 20,000 posts carried over from the earlier BPSC TRE 3.0 recruitment.
These vacancies cover different teaching levels Primary, Middle School, Secondary, and Senior Secondary. The official notification for BPSC TRE 4.0 is expected to be released by the end of June 2025.
Despite this large recruitment Bihar somehow still faces a shortage of around 60,000 teachers. The state has 5.65 lakh government school teachers, but it needs around 7 lakh teachers to meet the demand. The government plans to complete the appointment of all teachers by 2026.

The upcoming BPSC TRE 4.0 will also cover the 22,000 unfilled vacancies from the previous TRE 3.0 round. The application process for BPSC TRE 4.0 is expected to start in the last week of June 2025. The exam will be conducted offline in August, and the results should be announced by September. Education Minister Sunil Kumar has confirmed that BPSC will conduct the exam based on the number of official vacancies they receive.
Changes in the BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern and Focus
This year, BPSC is making the TRE 4.0 exam more challenging compared to previous years. The exam will focus heavily on language skills because earlier recruited teachers made many basic writing mistakes. To fix this, the Hindi and English sections of the exam will follow strict BPSC standards.
TRE 4 will be tougher than previous editions, especially in terms of language.
- Language papers will be of BPSC level.
- This decision is because even BPSC-recruited teachers are making basic writing mistakes, e.g., writing “को” as “कृप्या” and “असमर्थ” as “असर्मथ”.
Maximum recruitments will be in subjects like Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, and Physical Education.
- Every 120–200 students will have 5 teachers.
- All schools will get computer teachers under a plan to install computer labs in 28,000 schools.
The exam syllabus will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1: Tests understanding and writing skills in Hindi and English.
- Part 2: Subject-based questions on Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Child Development.
The exam will be a written test with multiple-choice questions. Candidates will have two hours and thirty minutes to finish it. There will be no negative marking, which means wrong answers will not reduce the candidate’s score.
How to Apply for BPSC TRE 4.0
The BPSC TRE 4.0 application form will be available online starting June 2025 on the official BPSC website (bpsc.bih.nic.in). Candidates are advised to prepare early by collecting all necessary documents like scanned copies of certificates, a recent photograph, and their signature. Being ready with these will help submit the application quickly and without problems once the form is released.
Number of Attempts
One important rule introduced recently limits the number of attempts candidates can take for the Principal Teacher Exam to just three. This rule comes under the Principal Teacher Recruitment and Service Conditions Rules, 2024, aiming to keep the selection fair and merit-based. This means candidates cannot keep trying indefinitely and must perform well within their allowed attempts.

Salary and Benefits for BPSC TRE 4.0 Teachers
The salary structure for teachers selected through BPSC TRE 4.0 is attractive and varies according to the teaching level. For Primary Teachers (classes 1 to 5), the basic salary starts at ₹25,000. Along with the basic pay, they receive a Dearness Allowance (DA) which is 53% of the basic salary, adding ₹13,250.
They also get a House Rent Allowance (HRA) worth 30% or ₹7,500. Other benefits like Conveyance Travel Allowance (CTA) and medical benefits add up as well. Altogether, a Primary Teacher’s monthly pay comes to roughly ₹48,880.
For Middle School Teachers (classes 6 to 8), the basic pay begins at ₹28,000. The DA amounts to ₹14,480, and the HRA is ₹8,400, making the net salary about ₹54,370 per month.
Secondary Teachers (classes 9 to 10) have a starting basic pay of ₹31,000. With a DA of ₹16,430 and an HRA of ₹9,300, their total monthly salary sums up to approximately ₹59,860.
Senior Secondary Teachers (classes 11 and 12) get a starting basic pay of ₹32,200. Adding DA of ₹16,960 and HRA of ₹9,600, their monthly pay reaches about ₹61,690.
