Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala health department has launched a new initiative to reduce the spread of coronavirus that has hit the state, the campaign has been named as Break The Chain.

The campaign Break The Chain ensures personals hygiene by spreading the word of using hand sanitizers, washing hands at offices, public spaces and houses. The campaign was inaugurated by health minister K. K. Shailaja.

Break the Chain campaign intends to create awareness about the below-mentioned measures and take them to the public.

Measures to contain the coronavirus include: Avoiding social greetings that involve touch such as handshakes, avoid touching face, nose and eyes unnecessarily, cover nose and mouth with a handkerchief while coughing and sneezing. Most importantly, wash hands with soap or sanitizer.

The public, government and quasi-government offices, public sector companies and banks have been directed to be a part of Break The Chain campaign.
