Tjat’s almost a carbon copy of the usual mid-November CoD tradition. They just love that pre-holiday cash grab, don’t they? Anyway, if you’re a fan who marks these launches on your calendar with a big red circle, you won’t have to adjust much this year.

Apparently, Gamescom 2025 is where all the magic’s happening. Mark August 19 if you’re the type who likes to watch overly dramatic trailers. Xbox already teased us with some futuristic, 2035-dystopia vibes at their Showcase, so, you know, more robots, less realism.

That’s where things get spicy. Everyone freaked out earlier this year thinking Microsoft was gonna jack the price up to $80. The Standard Edition is sticking at $69.99 (or €79.99), which, honestly, is still a chunk of change but at least it’s not more. If you’re feeling fancy, you can throw down $99.99 for the Vault Edition, which is basically just the game plus a bunch of digital bling you’ll forget about in two months.

What To Expect?
Platform-wise, it’s the usual suspects are PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC. And yeah, it’ll be on Game Pass day one, so if you’re already subscribed, you’re golden. The weird thing is that there is no Nintendo Switch 2 version at launch, even though Microsoft made a big show of promising Call of Duty on Nintendo. Maybe it’ll show up later, maybe not. Guess Switch players get to sit this round out, at least for now.
We’re all just waiting for Gamescom to see if this thing actually lives up to any hype or if it’s just another copy-paste job with shinier graphics.
Honestly, after the last few CoDs, I’m keeping my expectations in check. Campaign better not suck and the maps better not all look like futuristic parking garages.
