Chakra Jam: Huge traffic jam at Delhi border, 50,000 police personnel deployed

Chakka Jam: The farmers are protesting against the three farm laws today at the borders all across the nation, and have decided to hold a three-hour “chakka jam”, or road blockade, which started a while back, and farmers have finally sat on the roads to protest against the laws.

The protests have mostly been peaceful but a tractor rally organised on January 26th- Republic Day flared into turmoil as farmers clashed with police in New Delhi.

As on 26th Janaury, the things went violent, the government has deployed 50,000 paramilitary forces and police, have put double barricades and even have shut down ten metro stations to make sure what happened on January 26th is not repeated.

Keeping in mind the peaceful protest led by farmers, Delhi police has deployed around 50,000 personnel of paramilitary and reserve forces deployed in Delhi-NCR region. For the same reason, 12 metro stations in the national capital have been put on alert for closing the entry and exit in case any of any mishappening.

The three-hour ’chakka jam’ which is going on is to protest against the three farm laws. As per the Farm leader Rakesh Tikait, there will be no blockade in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
